Envo One is a free business theme. It is clean, fast, and works with Elementor. I used the free version for a client site. It worked fine. But the free version has a problem: no sticky header. When you scroll down, the menu disappears. On a business site with long pages, that is annoying. So I bought Envo One Pro for $39 a year. Here is what changed and whether you need it.

Envo One is made by Envo Themes. They make lightweight, fast themes. The free version is popular because it is simple. No bloat. No page builder required. But simple also means limited. The Pro version adds features without making the theme heavy.

The Sticky Header (Finally)

The free version has no sticky header. The menu scrolls away. People have to scroll back up to navigate. On a business site with a long homepage, that is a problem. Envo One Pro adds a sticky header. One checkbox in the customizer. I turned it on. My client’s bounce rate dropped by 6%. People could always see the menu. They clicked around more.

The free version has no sticky header. If you have short pages, maybe you do not need it. If you have long pages, you do.

The Pro Header Options

The free version has one header layout. Logo on the left, menu on the right. That is it. No top bar. No social icons. No button. Envo One Pro adds multiple header layouts. You can add a top bar with contact info and social icons. You can add a button in the header. You can make the header transparent on the homepage. You can also create different headers for different pages. I added a top bar with a phone number. My client started getting more calls. I added a “Get a Quote” button in the header. Click-throughs went up.

The free version is basic. Pro gives you real header options.

The Pro Blog Layouts

The free version shows your blog posts as a list. Featured image on the left, title and excerpt on the right. That is fine, but it is boring. Envo One Pro adds a grid layout and a masonry layout. You can choose how many columns. You can choose image sizes. I switched to a grid layout with three columns. More posts fit above the fold. People clicked on more articles. My page views per session went up by 10%.

The free version has one layout. Pro gives you three. If you blog regularly, you will appreciate the grid.

The Pro Color and Typography Controls

The free version has a few preset color schemes. You pick one. You cannot change fonts. Envo One Pro gives you a color picker for every element. Header background, footer background, link color, button color, hover color. You also get access to 800+ Google Fonts. You can choose fonts for headings and body text separately. I matched my client’s brand colors exactly. The site looked professional. The free version cannot do that.

If you have brand colors, you need Pro. If you are fine with the presets, free works.

The Pro Footer Builder

The free version has a footer with widget areas. You can add widgets, but you cannot control the layout much. Envo One Pro adds a footer builder. You can choose how many columns. You can add a copyright text area. You can add social icons. You can add a newsletter signup form. I built a footer with four columns. Contact info, recent posts, social links, and a newsletter form. It looks professional. It gives people reasons to stay on the site.

The free version is basic. Pro gives you control.

The Pro WooCommerce Features

The free version supports WooCommerce, but only basic styling. Product pages look plain. No quick view. No wishlist. Envo One Pro adds WooCommerce enhancements. A sticky add to cart bar on product pages. A quick view button on the shop page. A wishlist button. Product image zoom. I turned on the sticky add to cart bar. My client’s add to cart rate went up by 7%.

If you sell products, these features matter. The free version has none of them.

The Performance: Free vs Pro

I tested both versions on the same shared hosting. GTmetrix results:

Free version: 94% score, 1.3 seconds load time.

Pro version: 93% score, 1.4 seconds load time.

The difference is tiny. Pro adds features but does not slow the site much. You will not notice. Your visitors will not notice.

What Pro Does Not Have

Envo One Pro does not have a drag-and-drop homepage builder. You are limited to the sections the theme provides. If you want a custom homepage with unique sections, you will need Elementor or a different theme. Pro also does not have a built-in portfolio. If you need to showcase work, you will need a plugin or a different theme.

Envo One Pro is for small business owners who want a clean, fast website with a sticky header, better blog layouts, brand colors, a custom footer, and WooCommerce enhancements. The free version is fine for a basic brochure site. But if you want to look professional and convert visitors, you need Pro. The $39 per year is fair for what you get.

I bought it for my client. They are happy. Their site is faster than their old one. They get more calls. That is worth $39.
